Laughing Hats Honey
In the Jinja region of Uganda, more than just nature is thriving.
Through the work of Stichting Bring Light, households are being equipped with the skills and tools for sustainable beekeeping and economic independence.
At Bring Light, we focus on creating meaningful, long-term change — in communities where it truly matters. We empower (young) adults in Uganda to take steps toward a self-reliant and purposeful life. With the right support, they don’t just build better futures for themselves, but also for those around them.
Juliët
Beekeeper in training

Juliet lives in a small village just outside Jinja, where she works and lives on a farm with her family. They grow crops and sell them to provide for their household.
Recently, Juliet also became a beekeeper. After completing the training, she now has four KTB beehives on her farm. The extra income from honey production allows her children to attend school!
Behind every jar of honey is the story of a family that has gained financial breathing space through beekeeping.
Sweetness that gives back!
A jar of Laughing Hats Honey
With pride, they now bring Laughing Hats Honey to the market in the Jinja region — an honest brand that stands not only for pure, locally harvested honey, but also for hope, empowerment, and change.
All profits go directly back to the families.
Honey for school fees!

What we do
A sustainable investment in people with passion and potential
At Stichting Bring Light, we believe in the power of people.
By investing in their talents, skills, and future potential, we work together to create lasting change. This is not a quick fix, but a sustainable investment in individuals who are willing — and able — to make a difference in their own lives, for their families, and within their communities.
It starts with a 5-day training
During this intensive and hands-on program, participants learn all about beekeeping — from theory to building their own KTB hive (Kenya Top Bar Hive). But the journey doesn’t end there.
Step by step, we move forward together
After the training, we continue to support them on their own farm. We guide them through every stage — until they’re confident enough to care for their bees and harvest the honey independently.
From honey to honest trade
Each bee farm becomes a close-knit group. Once the first honey is harvested, our sales team buys the raw honey at a fair price and handles the marketing and sales to customers — always with a focus on quality and transparency.
This way, everyone earns a fair income from their work — and together we raise the standard of both the honey and the lives of the beekeepers.
Together, we bring light — and help people grow.

How You Can Help
Support Stichting Bring Light — Help Make a Difference!
At Stichting Bring Light, we work every day toward a sustainable future, where local communities can empower themselves with knowledge and resources in beekeeping. To make our work possible, we rely on the support of caring people like you.
Would you like to contribute to our mission? There are many ways to help:
Buy Our Honey — Taste the sweetness of sustainable beekeeping or give it as a thoughtful gift. Every jar supports the families we work with.
Donate — Your financial support helps us organize training sessions, build beehives, and provide local beekeepers with the right materials. Every euro makes an impact.
Donate Beekeeping Supplies — We’re always looking for good-quality beekeeping equipment to bring to Uganda, such as:
- Smokers
- Small tools (e.g., hive tools, brushes)
- Protective clothing (suits, gloves, veils)
Whether big or small, your donation helps both bees and people thrive. Together, we bring light — literally and figuratively.
Thank you for your support!

With every jar you open, you’re sharing in his journey – one of dedication, care, and a sweeter future for all.
